Workshop 8 on Heritage Conservation by Smart Habitat Foundation

The 8th Lecture Series was conducted at Creative Group Office on 29th May 2019, focusing upon Heritage Conservation with talks by –

Ar. Sangeeta Bais Principal Architect, Dharohar, Vice President of ICOMOS on Challenges in Conservation: A case study of living cultural site of Dargah complex of Ajmer;

Ar. Scott B Knox, Associate Principal Architect, Creative Group on Parthenon Reconstruction: Institute for Monumental Architecture.

The talks opened up fresh perspectives and new dimensions to heritage conservation which is presently conceived in a totally excursive manner without actually reviving the heritage values of the built form but plastering the abandoned structures. The talks inspired the gathering towards contemporary heritage preservation generating a new school of thought.

Prof. D.S. Ramakrishna Rao, a practicing architect, a pioneer, an academician, Dean of Mysore School of Architecture, Director & Principal Architect, Desirazu Associates also conducted a seminar on Heritage Documentation: A New Perspective.
